So, general rule sounds like modules can be drag and drop, but the components require install through the backend of Joomla. (com_fpss-v2.0.0_j1.5.zip) Once I hit install i get the woderful message:įrontpage SlideShow component by JoomlaWorks is now installed! Then went to option 1 and browsed for the particular file that I created. Identify the particular folder for com_fpss and zipped it back up. Solution: Original download unzipped and has several folders for the different applications. Perhaps if I take the com_fpss-v2.0.0_j1.5 file and zip it specifically and leave it on the desktop, then I can browse to the particular zip and see if it uploads. Seems my only option at this point is to just open a browser window and open the page and see what I get. Ok, being creative, I tried the following: Just tried install from URL and put local host path to. Install from URL - No url available, not an option.
zip file, but I think you are right about the zip being all variations of Slideshow, so that doesn't work. Install from Directory - There was a tmp file that had the original. I have to click on a php file before I get the option to install. Upload Package File - With this option, the com_fps is not an active option. When I go to Joomla admin, to the install/uninstall option, I run into a wall. Thanks Jeff, I think you are on to something, but there is a glitch. Trying not to take shortcuts or overload the board with questions, but I am stumped. I have done EXTENSIVE reading about Joomla, MAMP, Watched an entire tutorial on about Joomla 1.5. Fingers crossed this is something simple.

My configuration: Mac G5, dual core, Mac OS 10.4.11, Joomla 1.5.14, MAMP 1.8.3, Slideshow is the only module I have tried to add at this point. :-)Īm I missing something obvious? Is there no longer a "component" access to slideshow? Is it somewhere that I am missing? Apparently I am the only one having the problem. Even the bugs for Frontpage Slideshow are related to 1.7 versions. Most everything I find in a support environment in 2007, 2008. I access Joomla 1.5 just fine and can access and manipulate all of the data files that I imported to get used to Joomla. I have done most of the Joomla 1.5 install from uncompressed files. There is no reason to think that the module/component isn't installed, I just can't find it anywhere (other than module manager, but no control options).

I went back to Joomla administration and went the install/uninstall route and went back to the zip file and tried to install through the browser.

In Joomla admin I find "Slideshow" in the modules manager window, but the software does not show up in the components tab. Copied the uncompressed files to their respective folders: com_fpss-v2.0.0_j1.5 went to components folder in Joomla and mod_fpss-v2.0.0_j1.5 went to modules folder. The install seemed simple, but not so much. I have found the following installation description ( ), but it is from December 2007, so I assume older Frontpage Slideshow and Joomla 1.0. Need a slide show on the front page for a client.
